Northlake-Tucker CID s feasibility assessment on Tucker forming its own police department Majority of of the meeting was spent outlining the rationale behind the investigation and statistics that show that system response times are greatly improved in municipalities with their own dedicated police department Matthew Lee of the Northlake-Tucker CID along with Ed Densmore and Dwayne Orrick from the Georgia Association of Chiefs of Police did a bang-up job presenting the facts During the Q A session it seemed that the majority people were receptive to the idea as the questions mostly revolved expanding the Downtown Entertainment District to encompass the park At its Sept meeting the council discussed a text amendment that would expand the boundary to further activate the green space and Downtown Tucker according to a staff memo about the amendment The Downtown Tucker Entertainment District went into effect on Jan When the district was first created the Tucker Town Green was excluded from the boundary as the green space had not been designed or constructed the memo revealed Now that the Town Green is almost complete staff is proposing to amend the boundary of the district to ditch near a little-known entrance to Henderson Park on Sept Bystanders have a description of the man whom they believe dumped the dogs and a photo of his bus a white BMW sports utility automobile A Tucker resident declared her husband was searching for their dog which had gotten loose around p m when he noticed a man and several women standing next to a motorcycle near the park s entrance The man Rocamora disclosed was pacing back and forth by the car near the park entrance at Donegal Court The man according to spectators left the area around p m A neighbor soon after alerted Rocamora that a dead dog wearing a black harness and covered in a white blanket was unveiled in a ditch near the trail entrance Upon further study two dogs wearing the same type harness were exposed in the ditch and population connection according to a news release Bodae Vogt who serves on the District DeKalb County Animal Services Advisory Board disclosed he was tasked with organizing the event shortly after being appointed to the board I grew up having rabbits and dogs and the first dog I ever adopted came from the DeKalb animal shelter Vogt stated He was on the euthanasia list and it was great to give
